About the Job
Maryland Pediatric Care located in Germantown Maryland is looking to hire a Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric office team. Practice offers a positive work environment and a commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service.
The ideal candidate will have good communication (English and Spanish speaking must), customer service and problem solving skills, and experience working in a pediatric office with others as a team. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of our medical facility and enhancing patient satisfaction.

Pediatric and/or primary care outpatient office experience is preferred. Must be comfortable administering immunizations and working with children.

Experience with telephone triage and patient education. Must be comfortable working with EMR, and experience with pediatric EMR preferred.

Duties:
  • Greet and checking in patients.
  • Register, assess, and triage all patients.
  • Obtain vital signs and patient history.
  • Provides exceptional patient care and attend phone calls.
  • Administers medication and immunizations.
  • Performs and/or assists in procedures including processing routine labs and venipuncture.
  • Provide telephone triage and counsel parents on medical treatment.
  • Maintain and document all assessments, care and treatment plans in the EMR.
  • Maintain cleanliness of rooms and organized.
  • Attend phone calls, faxes and schedule patients, confirm appointments and reschedule as applicable.
  • Collect patient copays and inform medical staff once patient is ready.
  • Verify scan patient records and update at check in (insurance, demographics, parent information).
  • Work with staff to ensure best use of provider schedules.
  • Keep track of office supplies, anticipate needs and help manage vaccine inventory and order supplies.
  • Collect, open office mail and scan various documents into the EMR.
  • Facilitate the check in process and help with triaging patients.
  • Monitor and update patient intake portal and update patient information.
  • Performs administrative duties including front desk payment collection and record keeping.
  • Attends training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Pediatric and/or primary care outpatient office experience is preferred. Must be comfortable administering immunizations and working with children. Experience with telephone triage and patient education. Must be comfortable working with EMR, and experience with pediatric EMR preferred.

Requirements:
  • Spanish speaking desired.
  • Certification : Certified Medical Assistant.
